Regulations regarding protection on fixed ladders are changing in 2018. Currently, cages are required on fixed ladders that have a climb greater than 20 feet. Starting in November 2018, that will change. Ladders will not need fall protection until the climb is more than 24 feet. Instead of just a cage, a fall arrest system or ladder safety system will be required.

The updated OSHA regulations pertain to new ladders. Existing cages will be allowed for the next 20 years.

Steele Solutions engineers are fully aware of the new regulations, so our ladders will comply.
